We use graphene epoxy resin combined with TORAY’s premium T1000 carbon fiber, renowned for its ultra-compact filaments.

The T1000 has an ultra-compact filament that offers 30% more resistance than the T700 and 15% greater than the T800.

This allows us to reduce material by 20% while maintaining the same resistance in torsion and impact – meaning we achieve the same strength with less weight, or the same weight with even greater strength.

After two years of development and research, with exhaustive laboratory testing, and thousands of kilometers on the road, we unveiled our first wheels with carbon spokes in 2025 – a technological leap in performance, lightness, strength, and aerodynamics.

Carbon spokes are far more than just a lighter alternative to conventional spokes. Made from unidirectional or braided carbon fibers, they are engineered to perfrom under tension & compression.

Unlike metal spokes, which are flexible and designed to work only in tension, carbon spokes can adopt flat or aerodynamic profiles, adjunsting its stiffness during the lamination process.

The attachment to the hub is specific and requires precise angle calculations to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

The spokes we choose for our wheels are extremely reliable, featuring glue-free mechanical aluminum inserts that are twice as strong as steel.

Hand assembly is very laborious and time-demanding, requiring extensive expertise. As always, the nipples used in PROGRESS are self-locking, ensuring secure and long-lasting performance.

Durability is one of the goals set by PROGRESS from the start.

That’s why our rims are engineered to meet higher standards – far beyond what’s required for wheels with lower spoke tension or weight restrictions.

For instance, our rims feature reinforced strips where the spoke holes are placed, ensuring that high tensions are never an issue. In a regular rim, stresses around the nipple holes cannot be controlled by layup alone – the spoke force is concentrated around it.

Because of our engineered reinforcement strip, we are capable of puting the right fibers in the right positions. This spreads the spoke force through the reinforced area and distributes the stresses over a larger part of the rim.

Thanks to this design, our rims can withstand spoke forces of up to 300 kgf around the same as the ultimate strength of the spoke itself.
